Meena Alexander, Rita Dove, Esther Schor Poems for Sarra, Damocle, 2018

Sarra Copia Sulam lived, learned, and created in the Ghetto of Venice in the early seventeenth century. Four hundred years later, three distinguished poets revisited her life and works by living in Venice and exploring the Ghetto. This is their poetic tribute to a Jewish woman who defied with her art and pride the conventions of her time and place.
