The 31st Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow gave us the opportunity to update the project Living Under Water. A Jewish Exploration of Climate Change. The collaboration with the festival also allowed us to create Living Under Water /Jewish Views on the Environmental Crisis, with contributions by Marc Epstein, Shaul Bassi, Jonathan Sacks, Małgorzata Lebda and Nigel Savage, and featuring the works of Andi Arnovitz, Ken Goldman, Meydad Eliyahu, Leora Wise and others.
This project is a continuation of the 2018 residency and 2019 exhibition Living Under Water, in which several artists explored our environmental woes through the portal of the city that sadly, best reflects this crisis—Venice. A city once the home of a rich, Jewish culture, now faced with a dwindling Jewish population yet with a vibrant and evocative Ghetto. A city which is sinking and whose very existence is threatened by rising sea levels, tourists and time.
The exhibition is perfect for a cafe.
